Judah shall be “Broken”

The Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been replaced in Israel. A new coalition of right and left wing parties including one Islamic party have now taken power.

Meantime, Hamas has not gone away, and the northern border in Lebanon, Hezbollah has fired rockets in Israel before the ceasefire, and everyone knows Iran is behind this all.

Yet in the USA we have the weakest leadership ever in the White House with bumbling Biden who doesn’t know where he is half the time, and his administration wants to restart nuclear talks with Iran. What does the near future hold for the Jewish nation?

Isaiah’s Prophecy

The Israelis are pretty much surrounded by their enemies within and without Israel. Now with power changing hands and the uncertainty that surrounds this country, and with the weak leadership in the White House, the Iran and her proxies will take advantage that is certain!

This nation of Judah-the Jews, seems to be separated from the house of David and not led by them as this prophecy indicates. Of course the House and Kingly line of David got “overturned” into the House of Israel that got taken away and no longer ruled in Judah (Read our Booklet, The Throne of David in Prophecy for more details). This can only mean the modern independent nation of Judah.

When the Jewish exiles came back to the land, they were still not their own nation but under the auspices of Persia, Greece, and Rome until they got taken away in 70 A.D. by the armies of Titus. This can only mean Judah in our modern day. They became a nation in 1948 and gained the West Bank and Gaza during the wars of the 20^th century, and the Palestinians have been subject to them and are sworn enemies; and Judah smote them.

It’s the modern independent Jewish Nation that the Palestinians are subject to and the prophecy reveals that Judah will be broken. The Jews are continually under attack by her enemies from without and within. The “rod” can also mean its “government” will be broken as well (see Gill’s commentary). If the government is broken it affects the entire nation which leaves it vulnerable to attack from without and within. Even though Judah-the Jews are heavily protected, God says, “and Judah [Jews] hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.”  (Hosea 8:14). The nation, government, and people of Judah will be broken to the point an army from the “north” will step in and aid them.

Clearly Isaiah 14:29 reveals that there is a battle between the two entities. The Jews are smiting the Palestinians. The Palestinians are rejoicing because Judah is broken. The Palestinians think because the Jews defences are broken that the battle is won. This shows Iran's proxies which include Hamas (Palestine) as we shall see in this prophecy, will be at war with Israel and Israel defences will be broken by them.

God Warns Palestine of Another Enemy

Yet God warns the Palestinians not to rejoice because, “for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.” What does this mean? There have been many trying to interpret what the “serpent” actually represents. But when one looks at the context, it is obvious that the “serpent” is a symbol of an enemy-the enemy of the Palestinians! Serpents are often portrayed as enemies (see Jeremiah 8:17), “It is not at issue that the snake imagery in this verse symbolizes Philistia’s enemy… As argued above, the general referents of the snake images are to be Yahweh’s instrument of judgment…There will be a divinely sent punishment. Philistia will not only be terrorized by enemies who act like snakes and poisonous serpents, but they will be destroyed by another fiery snake symbol which would remind them from whence their annihilation comes: from the true King and only God, Yahweh of Hosts!” (Isaiah's Oracle Against Philistia: An Exegetical and Historical Study of Isaiah 14:28-32 Paul Wenz, pp.52, 55, emphasis added). Clearly the “serpent” is Judah the enemy of the Palestinians!

Back in the days of Moses God sent “fiery serpents” as an instrument of judgment on Israel (see Num 21:6); and God is going to send an instrument of Judgment on the Palestinians. This instrument will be an army from the “North” (14:32), as this same source says, “To resolve this, most scholars realize that the ‘broken scepter’ must also be the same enemy [of the Palestinians] who is related to the snake imagery [serpent’s root] in the rest of v. 29 and the imminent war machine in v. 31b.” (Isaiah's Oracle Against Philistia: An Exegetical and Historical Study of Isaiah 14:28-32 Paul Wenz, p.56, emphasis added). The “broken sceptre”-the “serpent” and the other enemy God brings to punish Palestine “the serpent’s root” must be “related” belonging to the same family of peoples. Also there is a connection with the sceptre in verse 29, and the smoke from the North in verse 31, which is a symbol of an army from the “north.”

If the serpent IS Judah the enemy of the Palestinians what is his “root” that is related to Judah?  It says “for out of the serpent's root shall come forth” What family are the Jews rooted into?  The 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL! Judah is one tribe of the 12 tribes of Israel! They all have their roots in Jacob! Jacob then passed that on to the leader the tribe of Joseph in which Jacob gave them his name (see Gen 48 and 49). Jacob said to Ephraim and Manasseh the two sons of Joseph, “let my name be named on them,” (48:16) and Joseph has the “crown of the head of him that was separate [chief] from his brethren.” (49: 26).

Israel is often portrayed as a “root” (Isaiah 27:6). They are known as the “vine” the “Olive tree” etc.…Israel is the root of Judah, and that got passed on to Ephraim and Manasseh-and they have been identified as Modern day USA [Manasseh] and the British Commonwealth [Ephraim]. And who allowed the migration of Jews back to Palestine? Britain! The Belfour declaration promising “British support” for a Jewish “national homeland.” The USA has been an ally, funder, staunch supporter and co-builder of the Jewish Nation since its inception in 1948.

“American support for the age-old aspirations of the Jewish people to return to their homeland dates from the Colonial period when John Adams wrote: ‘I really wish the Jews again in Judea an independent nation for, as I believe, the most enlightened men of it have participated in the amelioration of the philosophy of the age.’ John Quincy Adams wrote to Major Mordecai Manuel Noah that he believed in the ‘rebuilding of Judea as an independent nation.’… In 1917, Lord Balfour sent a letter to Lord Rothschild, president of the British Zionist Federation, stating that the British Government would facilitate the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine. President Wilson expressed his support for the Balfour Declaration when he stated on March 3, 1919…Congress was no less sympathetic to the Zionist objective. One can look back to the joint Congressional resolutions of 1922 and 1944 that unanimously passed an endorsement of the Balfour Declaration.” (Article; U.S.-Israel Relations: Roots of the U.S.-Israel Relationship by the Jewish Virtual Library, emphasis added) This history alone shows that Judah has its roots in Israel-Ephraim [Britain] and Manasseh [USA]!

Back to the prophecy, “for out of the serpent's [Judah] root [Israel] shall come forth a cockatrice [a viper], and his fruit [offspring] shall be a fiery flying serpent.” The serpents root “will be even more terrible and venomous” (Pulpit commentary). So the “viper”- the USA and Britain have larger armies that are more equipped and have advance style weapons that are lot deadlier and effective than the Israelis army.

The latter end of this verse says, “and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.” The “fruit” does not mean the “viper’s fruit” but the “serpents fruit;” as this source rightly states, “not the fruit of the cockatrice, but of the serpent; and intends the same as before” (Gill’s Commentary). So out of the serpent’s root which is Israel, also shall come forth “fruit.” Ephraim’s name means “fruitful” (Strong’s #669, 672). Joseph was to bear fruit, “Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:” (Gen 49:22). These “branches” were colonies that were to spring up and become great nations all over the earth.

Fruit often means “offspring” in the Bible, (see Gen 30:2; Ex 21:22; Deut 28:11, 18, 53;  Psalm 127:3; 132:11; Luke 1:42). The “offspring” of Israel as Hosea says of “mother” Israel, specifically Ephraim was to become a “company of nations” (Gen 35:10-11; 48:19);

“How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel?... As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

“Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them! 

“Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.” (Hosea 11:8; 9:11-13).  

America and the British Commonwealth [Ephraim’s offspring], are all fully equipped with Armies and in a huge alliance called NATO “shall be a fiery flying serpent.” The Brenton English Septuagint translates it, “for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents,” In the plural because it is speaking of the “fruit” of the serpent roots, so it’s “branches,” a collection, a cluster of nations- an alliance of armies coming together to aid and help the Jews.

The army is portrayed as “flying serpents” because, it is “likened to such a creature, because of the fury and swiftness with which he was to come…the ‘serpent’… is called ‘fiery’, or ‘burning,’ because it inflames where it bites; of which see Num 21:6 and ‘flying’, not because it has wings, though some serpents are said to have them; but because, when it leaps or darts upon a man, it is with such swiftness, that it seems to fly;” (Gill’s commentary). This perfectly describes NATO and their capabilities when it comes to full scale warfare.

NATO to Protect and Aid the Jews

Isaiah continues, “And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.” The “firstborn of the poor” are obviously “the inhabitants of Judah would enjoy peace and safety…” (Paul Kretzmann Popular Commentary).  In the book of Zephaniah in the very area of the Palestinians, this prophecy that describes the Jews moving into this land in the end time says specifically, “And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.” (2:7). This was fulfilled after World War Two when God “turn[ed] away their captivity” and the Jews started pouring into this land. (Read the Article “Are the Jews Judah” on our website British-Israel.ca).

God says that the Jews will “lie down in safety” Judah is broken but they shall be safe because God sends a “smoke” from the North to save them as we read in the next verse, “for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.” (v.31) (more on this below); because of their friendship with the NATO alliance and a huge arsenal of weapons, the Jews will enjoy their umbrella of protection. Barnes’s Notes, “That is, there shall be safety to those parts of Judah which have long been exposed to the invasions of the Philistines. Philistia bordered on Judea, and was constantly making wars upon it, so that there was no safety felt.” (emphasis added). Protection will be given to them after Judah’s  government and nation is broken-this we see in Daniel 11:45 when the King of the North which we have identified as NATO comes into Israel and occupies it militarily (Read our booklet The Middle East in Prophecy for details) to save them.

We also see this in Isaiah 19:17 where Isaiah says, “And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.”  The primary root word for “terror” is “châgag” and it means, “A primitive root (compare H2283, H2328); properly to move in a circle, that is, (specifically) to march in a sacred procession, to observe a festival; by implication to be giddy: - celebrate, dance, (keep, hold) a (solemn) feast (holiday), reel to and fro.” (Strong’s # 2287). This makes Egypt “afraid.” Now seeing dancing and celebration doesn’t make anyone afraid. But a military does! When in the Bible, have we seen a sacred procession of military troops moving in a circle? The battle of Jericho in Joshua’s day! (Read our booklet Egypt in Prophecy for details).

This is speaking of the same time when military troops occupy Judah to protect them. Daniel says, “And he [King of the North-NATO] shall plant the tabernacles of his palace [Military Bases with soldiers] between the seas in the glorious holy mountain [Land of Judah]; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him” (11:45).

Palestine’s Power will Dry Up

Now the latter end of Isaiah’s prophecy says, “and I will kill thy root with famine, and he [the army from the north] shall slay thy remnant” (14:30). Now, “There is no written record of Philistia's fall or of a specific famine which led to their destruction” (p.60). So this is obviously for the end time.

God is going to destroy the “root” of its power  as Barnes’s says “So God says that he would effectually and entirely destroy the power of the Philistines…he shall dry up the root, and the branches [remnant] shall wither and die also.” (Barnes’s Notes, emphasis added). What is the root of the power of the Palestinians in Gaza? Iran! Iran sponsors and funds Hamas with money and weapons to attack the Jews. The whole reason the King of the North goes into Israel to save it is because, “But tidings out of the east and out of the north [Old Persia-Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan] shall trouble him:” (Dan 11:44). God says, “The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach [Iran see K& D Commentary], and Damascus shall be the rest thereof:” (Zech 9:1). God’s wrath is going to rest on Persia and they will be destroyed. Iran’s power is going to be destroyed by NATO!

God uses Israel as an instrument of his judgment on wicked nations, “The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.

“Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;” (Jer 51:19-20).

Iran has made it clear that they are the sworn enemies of the Jews and America and the west. This Nuclear deal with Iran, deal or not will end in failure-God’s wrath is on that nation and their power will be taken away by NATO; and the “remnant” meaning the “branches” from their “root” Iran, any aid weapons or power that Iran has in Palestine will be taken away and destroyed by NATO as well. Joseph Benson writes, “[Isaiah 14:30] When the root is killed, the plant or tree is wholly destroyed. The meaning therefore is, I will utterly destroy thee, both root and branch, so that there shall be no remnant of thy people reserved, as it follows.” (Commentary on the Old and New Testaments, emphasis added). 

Howl O’Palestine

Isaiah now says, “Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.” (14:31); as noted above, here is that enemy of Palestine that is the root of Judah-a northern army coming to save Judah-the King of the North. (Dan 11:45) NATO!

Now Palestine is “dissolved” meaning, “‘melted’ through fear of enemies coming upon them;” (Gill’s Commentary). The city cries and howls because of the coming army from the north that is coming to help the Jews. The Palestinians, with NATO coming to the Jews defence, know they cannot defeat the Jews with NATO’s presence, and with Iran taken out and no longer aiding and funding them with weapons, the Palestinians will howl and cry and will be melted away in fear.  

The latter end of that verse says, “for there shall come from the NORTH a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.” The symbol of “smoke” means clearly in the Bible, “As in Song of Songs 3:6, ‘smoke’ can be either a description of the dust cloud raised by an advancing army” ((Isaiah's Oracle Against Philistia: An Exegetical and Historical Study of Isaiah 14:28-32 Paul Wenz, p.35).

Others say the same:

·        “A great dust raised has, at a distance, the appearance of smoke: Fumantes pulvere campi; “The fields smoking with dust.” - Virg. Aen. 11:908.” (Clarke’s Commentary).

·        “a numerous army, raising a dust like smoke as they move along, and coming with great ‘swiftness…’’’ (Gill’s Commentary)

·        “ ‘from the North,’ is a Hebrew idiom for the direction of judgment, i.e., the countries from which God sends foreign armies as instruments of His wrath.” (ibid, 35).

This is a Northern army coming to save the Jews. Where else do we see this happening? Daniel 11:45, the King of the NORTH occupies Judah to save it! In our booklet “The Middle East in Prophecy” we clearly show that Daniel 11:40-45 is the “potter’s clay” with the “Iron” of Daniel prophecy in Daniel the second chapter. The “potter’s clay” is the “house of Israel” see Jeremiah 18:6. The House of Israel is modern day USA and the British Commonwealth and the peoples of North Western Europe (Read our booklet USA and the British in Prophecy for details). The “Iron” is Europe in an alliance together this is NATO! This “smoke” or army from the “north” that is related to the Jews is NATO!

Then it says, “and none shall be alone in his appointed times.” The Ferrar Fenton translates, “not alone but in Masses” This a huge collection a cluster of armies coming to save Judah. No alliance like this exists but NATO.

Now the next verse says, “What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people [the Jews] shall trust in it.” (V.32). This is an obvious statement that the Northern Army comes to save the Jews! Daniel 11:45, the King of the North comes to save Judah because of “tidings” out of the east and the North that trouble him (11:44). If Judah is broken, the King of the North the President of the USA and NATO will be troubled because the USA is the best and closest ally the Israeli nation has; not to mention the huge investment and friendship the two nations enjoy at this present time.

So here the Palestinians send ambassadors to Jerusalem to negotiate some sort of a deal, “What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation?”  “What answer shall be made to the Philistine ambassadors, when they come to Jerusalem and entreat for aid?” (Pulpit Commentary).

Notice the clear answer from the King of the North, “That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.” “the poor of his people shall trust in it; or, ‘betake themselves to it’; as to a place of safety, being founded by the Lord, and under his protection.” (Gill’s Commentary). This is the clear negotiation from NATO that the Jews will live in peace in their land, and the Palestinians needs to accept this especially when Iran is taken out of the picture.

Who else but the President of the USA who heads NATO in this day would answer in this way? We have heard from American officials many times saying that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel; God gave it to the Jews and it’s their eternal capital, and the security of Jerusalem and Israel is their top priority in the Middle east region. “Judah's Wound”

 Hosea 5:13 reveals a prophecy that shows the reason why NATO goes into Judah, “When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.” The Jamieson Fausset and Brown Commentary says, “Understand Judah as the nominative to ‘sent,’ Thus, as ‘Ephraim saw his sickness’ (the first clause) answers in the parallelism to ‘Ephraim went to the Assyrian’ (the third clause), so ‘Judah saw his wound’ (the second clause) answers to (Judah) ‘sent to king Jareb’ (the fourth clause).” (emphasis added).

Who is “king Jareb”? “Jareb ought rather to be translated, ‘their defender,’ literally; avenger (Jerome).” Who Defends the Israelis? The USA! The King of the North! Notice what Joseph Benson says in his commentary, “The word Jareb means one that will plead for a person, and defend his cause against any that may oppose him, or an avenger, or helper. And it does not appear to be here a proper name. Bishop Horsley renders it, The king who takes up all quarrels, and observes, ‘This describes some powerful monarch who took upon him to interfere in all quarrels between inferior powers, to arbitrate between them, and compel them to make up their differences upon such terms as he thought proper to dictate: whose alliance was, of course, anxiously courted by weaker states.”’ (emphasis added). This clearly describes the President of the USA and the Nato Alliance.

Here  it reveals Judah seeing his “wound” and goes to the President of the USA asking for help; it says Judah “sent” to King Jareb. Ephraim went to Assyria, Judah sent to King Jareb.

Then the Text says “yet could he [The Great King] not heal you, nor cure you of your wound” not “them”  and “their wound”  meaning both Ephraim and Judah-Its just Judah he is the one with the wound not Ephraim, It is Judah that is weak and wounded.  The King of the North is discussing the situation in Judah, then leading a force to occupy Judah (Daniel 11:45). The great  “King” as he is called, the King of the North, God says, “yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.” (v.13)  He could not help because the alliance is crumbling. “none shall rescue him” (Hosea 5:14).  It will be at this time that the King of the North, “shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” NATO COMES TO AN END! Soon after this comes the great tribulation on Judah and Israel (Jer 30:5, 7; Daniel 12:1).  

Again Hosea says, “For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him. 

“I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.” (vv.14-15). This is that affliction-the deadly wound that will tear apart the NATO alliance that we read in Jeremiah 30:14, 15 and in Numbers 24:24. As Daniel says, “yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him” (11:45).

Notice what the Jamieson Fausset and Brown commentary says,  “return to my place — that is, withdraw My favor.” (Emphasis theirs) This happens when Michael takes away the divine protection over Israel “At that time” when NATO falls (Daniel 12:1).

“till they acknowledge their offence — The Hebrew is, ‘till they suffer the penalty of their guilt.”’ (Emphasis theirs). This is the time of the great tribulation which comes soon after, “and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:” (Dan 12:1).

Afterwards, “and seek my face: in their affliction [the great tribulation] they will seek me early.” (Hosea 5:15). This happens at the second coming of Christ. (Jer 30:14-24; Hosea 6:1-2).

Isaiah 22

Isaiah gives another prophecy about the security of Jerusalem by the King of the North-The President of the USA & NATO.

Here Isaiah gives a “…burden of the valley of vision” (v.1).  There are 3 different prophecies about Jerusalem in this chapter. Verses 1-6 is the Beast power invading Jerusalem. 7-14 is the one this article will focus on. The last verses 15-25 focuses on the 4^th overturn of the throne of David and Jesus sitting on that throne. (Read our booklet Throne of David in Prophecy for details).

Isaiah 22:7 begins “And it shall come to pass,” indicating a separate prophecy from the first 6 verses but tied together in these series of visions because they all deal with Jerusalem. Also, one can tell this is a separate prophecy about Jerusalem from the previous versus for the simple reason; this invasion comes to save Judah while in verses 4-5 it speaks of the “day of trouble” and the spoiling of Judah. This happens at the second coming Jesus where Jesus saves Jerusalem and Judah.

In versus 7-14 we see an army saving Judah, so obviously this is a separate prophecy dealing with Jerusalem. This source writes, “This verse and the next are closely connected, and introduce the new subject of the preparations which the Jews made for their defense.” (Pulpit Commentary, emphasis added).

Notice, “that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.” Young’s Literal Translation has, “The choice of thy valleys have been full of chariots, And the horsemen place themselves diligently at the gate.” Notice this army chooses where to set up their armies, as it says in Daniel 11:45, “And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace” He sets up his military bases in the place of his choosing, which is “between the seas in the glorious holy mountain;” The “gate” of course is Jerusalem almost all commentaries agree on that fact.

Isaiah continues, “And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.” Here is it speaking of the national defence of Judah. The NLT Version of the Bible translates it, “Judah’s defenses have been stripped away.” At that time the national armoury was known as, “‘The house of the forest’ was probably that portion of the palace of Solomon which he had called ‘the house of the forest of [from] Lebanon’’’ (1Kings 7:2-5), “The house of armory built of cedar from the forest of Lebanon by Solomon, on a slope of Zion called Ophel (1Ki 7:2; 1Ki 10:17; Neh 3:19).” (Pulpit Commentary, emphasis added).

Notice this army “looks” and “discovered” the “covering of Judah” the national defence of Judah. Interesting that God calls it the “covering” of Judah and the Jews call it the “Iron dome” that covering that defends the Jews from incoming rocket fire. But this army discovers what? Notice the context in verse 9, “Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.”  These are, “the fortifications of which, in times of peace, had gone to decay; and which they had seen before, but took no notice of, being in safety; but now besieged, and in great danger, they looked upon them in good earnest, in order to repair them, and secure themselves from the irruption of the enemy;” (Gill’s Commentary, emphasis added). He is looking on the national defence of Judah and in Jerusalem and discovered that they are in desperate need to be defended; their defence is depleted, and the city is breached due to their enemies attacks on them, and it needs to be repaired because Judah is Broken and the King of the North is trying to cure Judah of their “wound.”

Notice verses 10-11, “And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall….Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool:” Here the king of the North’s army comes in and repairs Jerusalem and defends it from her enemies. This prophecy coincides with Isaiah 14 and Daniel 11:45 perfectly.

Clearly this shows that Judah will be “broken” by war from her enemies that surround her-Iran Lebanon, the Palestinians (from within) to the point that NATO will step in to save them. “But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him:” When Judah is troubled, the King of the North-the President of the USA is troubled, as well as NATO! And these “tidings” come from Iran who is orchestrating it all through its proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Notice verse 11, “but ye [Judah] have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.” Not that they don’t believe in God; the point of this verse is showing that they are relying on their military might and not God for protection: “they trusted in their warlike preparations, and prudential care and caution, for the defence of themselves, and looked not unto, nor trusted in, the Lord their God;” (Gill’s Commentary). Also, 40% of the Israelis are largely secular.

Now the next verses confirm again that this army is the Joseph-Israelite lead army from the North NATO!

Notice verse 12-14, “And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth: 

“And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. 

“And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.” Here God is calling for repentance and instead they continue to believe everything is fine and they are protected by the military might of the USA and NATO. God knows that the fall of NATO is coming next. A deadly blow will be given to NATO by China (see Num 24:24); this is why God is calling for repentance; this is why God is telling them to look to him for protection.

Yet this message is not just to Judah, this message is also to the “House of Israel” Notice:

“Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain [government] of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came![ for judgment; for judgment; (Barnes’s)]” 

“Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; 

“That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; 

“That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; 

“That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph [Ephraim and Manasseh-The USA and the British]. 

“Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.” (Amos 6:1, 3-7). Here the House of Israel are ignoring all the problems they have due to sin. This message is not just for Judah but for Israel that is IN Judah-This army is the Israelite led NATO which is about to fall, “yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” (Dan 11:45) unless they repent! The message is for both Israel and Judah.

Also Isaiah says, “And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.” (22:14). Amos prophesied that they will go captive and the nation will “die”

Ezekiel’s Watchman message that he was commissioned to do-and also the church by the words of Jesus Christ, was to “the house of Israel” (33:7), and he says to them, “turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (v.11). Clearly from comparing the prophecies NATO is the army that will come in and save the Jews.

Judah will be “broken” as God says, and NATO will come to save them as Daniel 11:45 prophesied. Then, as Daniel, Jeremiah 30:14,15, and Numbers 24:24 predicts NATO will break apart, “yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.”

After this rises the beast power and their “miry clay” alliance which the Palestinians will be a part of (Read our booklet Palestine in Prophecy for details) along with Egypt and many black African nations; and then comes the fall of the greatest nations ever in this world, the USA and the British- a time called “Jacob’s trouble” the great tribulation!
