Lesson Twenty
Modern Day Israel, the Lost Ten Tribes
1. Who is Israel?
In the beginning was Israel a nation or a person?
"And the ______________________
within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of
the LORD.
"And the LORD said unto her, _________________________, and two manner of people
shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than
the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger." (Gen 25;22-23).
Question? Is it safe to say that Israel was a person who would eventually become a nation? yes_______ no______?
2. Was Israel to evolve From a person to a nation to eventually a company of nations?
And God said unto him, Thy name
is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy
name: and he called his name Israel.
"And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply;
_________________________________ shall be of thee, and __________ shall come
out of thy loins;" (Gen 35:10-11).
This promise of the many nation birthright was actually the promise God made to Abraham (Gen 17), which he passed onto Isaac (Gen 25 & 26). Esau gave up that birthright to Israel (Gen 25). Israel was the possessor of the many nation birthright of the Abrahamic promise.
3. To whom was the birthright passed onto after the time of the death of Jacob?
And it came to pass after these
things, that one told _____________, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took
with him his two sons, ___________________________________________
"And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son ______________________ cometh
unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
" And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land
of Canaan, and blessed me,
" And said unto me, Behold
_________________________________________________________; and will give this
land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
" And now thy two sons, ________________________________________, which were
born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are
mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine." (Gen 48:1-5). The many
nation birthright got passed onto Joseph, his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh.
These two tribes were adopted into the family of Israel on equal plain with the
other tribes of Israel. They "are mine" Israel said to Joseph.
4. A "Nation" and a "Company of Nations"
Who was to become the nation, who was to become the company of many nations according to Israel?
"And when Joseph saw that his
father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he
held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto
_______________________ head.
"And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father:
_________________________________________________________________.
"And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it:
__________________________________________________ but truly his younger brother
shall be greater than he,
___________________________________________________________." (Gen 48:17-19).
Ephraim was the company of nations, and Manasseh was to become a "great
people" or nation of the Abrahamic promise.
5.Were they to receive the name of Israel?
"The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; ________________________________________________________________; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." (Gen 48:16).
2. ISRAEL IN THE PROMISED LAND
Were the promises allotted to Israel (Ephraim and Manasseh) fulfilled when the came into the promised land?
Reasons why it was not:
I was a global promise Gen 48:16. "let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." Not just the promised land. Israel just received the promised land which was a fulfillment of part of the promised in Gen 15.
Israel was "one" nation comprised of all 12 tribes (2 Samuel 7:23). Ephraim and Manasseh were to become a "nation and a company of nations."
Israel prophesied that these promises would take place in the "latter days" (Gen 49:1). End time prophecies.
3. WHAT HAPPENED TO ISRAEL?
In the days of Solomon, by the will of God, what did God do to the nation of Israel?
"And it came to pass at that
time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite
found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two
were alone in the field:
" And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him,
___________________________________:
" And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the
God of Israel, Behold, _______________________________________
_____________________________________________________________
" (But he shall have __________________________________, and for Jerusalem's
sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)
"But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even__________________________
.
"And unto his son will I give _______________________, that David my servant may
have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to
put my name there.
"And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be _______________________" (1 Kings 11:29-32, 35-37).
Because Solomon was a Judahite, God did not mean that "one tribe" meant Judah. David reigned over Judah, then Israel joined Judah to become one nation, see 2 Samuel 2-5. So who is this one tribe? The tribe of Benjamin.
The International Bible Commentary
says this about the "one tribe". "...the oracle [prophecy] suggests Benjamin
joined the succession (see 1 Kings 12:20 where LXX adds 'and Benjamin' to keep
to its earlier two-yet MT has Benjamin in 1 Kings 12:21). Benjamin, the tribe of
Saul, might be expected to have strong ties with the north against Judah.
Jericho was firmly attached to the north, but other cities (notably Gideon
confederacy and Levitical cities) remained loyal to Jerusalem
[Benjamite city as well]...Gray suggests Simeon kept links with the
north-because of the pilgrimage to Beersheba in Amos 5:5-so Benjamin is the one
tribe left to Judah" (p.408, emphasis added). He kept the two pieces, meaning
Judah and Benjamin, but just mentioned the "one tribe" that would join Judah!
Further confirmation
"And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over ___________________: there was none that followed the house of David, ___________________________________________.
"And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the
________________________________________, an hundred and fourscore thousand
chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against
______________________________________, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam
the son of Solomon." (1Kings 12:20-21).
God split the kingdom in two. Now we have the "house of Israel," and the "House of Judah." Two Kingdoms one comprised of 10 tribes, the other two tribes, Judah and Benjamin.
Now when we read prophecies in the Old Testament, we can understand when God talks about the "House of Israel," who this actually means. One example, "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:" (Jer 31:31).
4. THE ORIGINS OF THE WORD "JEW"
Where did the word "Jew" come from? Where is the first time you see the word "Jew" in the Bible?
"Then Rezin king of Syria and
Pekah son of Remaliah ______________________came up to Jerusalem to war: and
they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
"At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and
_______________________ from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt
there unto this day" 2 Kings 16:5-6).
Obviously Jerusalem is the capital of the House or Kingdom of Judah, so the "Jews" are the House of Judah NOT THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. Verse 5 shows ISRAEL AT WAR AGAINST THE JEWS! For more details on this biblical fact read our book, The USA and British in Prophecy.
5. What Happened to the so-called Lost Ten Tribes?
What Happened to the House of Israel? Does the Bible give us any indication where they are?
During the siege of Samaria and northern Israel we see the Assyrian empire come and take away all of the House of Israel away into ASSYRIA!
"In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria" (2 Kings 15:29).
In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son
of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
"And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings
of Israel that were before him.
"Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant,
and gave him presents.
"And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers
to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had
done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in
prison.
"Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to
Samaria, and besieged it three years.
"In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried
Israel away into Assyria..." (2 Kings 17:1-6). In many waves of invasions the
Bible shows that the northern ten tribes were taken away into Assyria. One of
God's prophets predicted the end of Israel this way, "For the LORD shall smite
Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of
this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond
the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger"
(1 Kings 14:15).
It is in this point in history that we find the Israelites disappear from history. Why? What is the main reason? Millions of people just do not disappear? God promised that Israel would always be a people before him on the earth, see Jeremiah 33.
Ancient Assyrian documents show a NAME CHANGE. The Assyrians DID NOT call the nation of Israel, Israel. They called them by other names. The main name they called them was the "Cimri, or Cimmerians." This was named after their king Omri. The Assyrians even called the land, the "land of Omri." The got corrupted in the Assyrian language to "Bit-Khumri." Interestingly enough, just when Israel disappears in history, the Cimmerians appear at the same time. The Cimmerians at that time were called by the Greeks, the "Keltoi" or the Celts. These Celtic-Scythian peoples migrated up into Europe into Scandinavia and Britain. For more details on this biblical fact read our book, The USA and British in Prophecy.
The modern nations of the West are part of the House of Israel!
Are there prophecies that show this?
1.What did God promise Israel he would become? "And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
"And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply;____________________________________________________________ shall come out of thy loins;" (Gen 35:10-11).
2. What two tribes were to become these multitude of nations?
And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon
the head of _____________, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand,
to remove it from Ephraim's head unto _______________ head.
"And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn;
put thy right hand upon his head.
"And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it:
____________________ and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother
shall be greater than he, and his _____________________________." (Gen
48:17-19).
Manasseh= "a _____________ people"
Ephraim= ' a ______________ of nations"
3. These were to dwell 'North-West" Of Palestine in the "Isles of the Sea"
"Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far....Thou art my servant, _____________, in whom I will be glorified....Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the _______________________; and these from the land of Sinim." (Isaiah 49:1, 3, 12).
"For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for
___________-, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye,
and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of _______________.
"Behold, I will bring them from the _________________and gather them from the
_________________________, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with
child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return
thither.
"They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will
cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall
not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
"Hear the word of the LORD, ______________________________, and say, He
that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his
flock." (Jeremiah 31:7-10).
Since the House of Israel migrated into Europe, and God prophesied they would become multitude of nations and a great nation. That they would dwell in the Isles of the Sea and the ends of the earth, who could those people be? What two "Brother" nations do you know of that became a Great Nation, and a Company of Many nations? There are only two that fit the biblical identity, that is the USA AND THE BRITISH COMMONWEALTH OF PEOPLES! We are the House of Israel!
Now that you have this information you prophetic journey into the scriptures begins
